Extreme frosts in Greenland! The temperature dropped to -50,8°C, October record for Summit station (3216 MASL) is only -51,4°C!

Extremely cold air, which is already shifting from the Arctic and Greenland above Scandinavia /https://mkweather.com/winter-came-to-scandinavia-very-early-48-cm-snowfall-in-finland-and-27c-forecasted-for-sweden// left in Greenland surprisingly cold recorded temperatures.

While the coldest place in Greenland, Summit in 3216 MASL, has an all-time October temperature record of the lowest minimum temperature ever only -51,4°C, the temperature near Summit, above 3000 MASL dropped on Sunday, 17. October is extremely low with a possible mid-October temperature record!

In Greenland Plateau, an automatic meteorological station measured only -50,8°C what should be an excessively low minimum temperature for mid-October!

All-time records from Summit from winter months have values up to -63,3°C /https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summit_Camp/.

Station Nord on the coast reported on Monday, 18. October 2021 -24,6°C, Kap Morris Jesup only -27,6°C!

Very cold conditions on Tuesday, 19. October 2021 were reported from Eastern Siberia, too /http://mkweather.com/delyankir-siberia-348c-very-close-to-seasonal-records//, but northern Canada is thanks to Early Canadian Stratospheric Warming currently warm.

According to available materials from Twitter, a monstrous high pressure is forecasted above Greenland around 28. October 2021, with a possibility of frosts below -50°C, possibly at the level of all-time records, again.

Extremely cold air should shift above Scandinavia in late October and early November 2021 again. Only thanks to the increasing of the NAO index near zero, extreme cold blasts with origin in Greenland high probably won´t hit European mid- and southern latitudes in early November 2021, with a result of the next period of Indian summer.

The next severe cooldowns above the region should come around December 2021 and early January 2022, still with predicted cold winter conditions across Northern Hemisphere /https://mkweather.com/winter-2021-2022-forecast-extreme-frosts-in-eurasia-in-december-in-north-america-in-february-early-canadian-stratospheric-warming-ne-pacific-blob-la-nina-qbo-and-shift-from-nao-to-nao-such-le/; https://mkweather.com/winter-2021-2022-forecast-for-europe-early-extreme-arctic-and-siberian-blasts-and-blizzards-late-dry-and-very-warm-conditions/; https://mkweather.com/winter-2021-2022-forecast-extreme-frosts-in-eurasia-in-december-in-north-america-in-february-early-canadian-stratospheric-warming-ne-pacific-blob-la-nina-qbo-and-shift-from-nao-to-nao-such-le/; https://mkweather.com/winter-2021-2022-forecast-for-asia-early-extreme-arctic-and-siberian-blasts-and-blizzards-late-dry-and-warm-conditions/; https://mkweather.com/winter-and-summer-2021-2022-forecast-for-africa//.

In the case of the next extreme frosts in Greenland at the end of October 2021 / at the start of November 2021, we will inform you on our homepage.
