While Nor´Easter from East Coast, the USA is shifting above southern Greenland and Iceland regions, above central Greenland before the arrival of the storm was peaking extremely cold weather.
Summit, around 3200 MASL, reported on 31. January anomalous -62,4°C, which is the lowest temperature of Winter 2021/2022 in the Northern Hemisphere, so far.
Before 31. January 2022, a record held Delyankir, Siberia from 8. December 2021, when -61,1°C was measured.
Moreover, according to MPR Weather on Twitter, the coldest air of winter next 1-2 weeks above NE Canada and Greenland is predicted, therefore this value is possibly not the lowest, yet.
Ex-blizzard in the next hours and days will bring snowfall and warmer weather in southern Greenland.
“The remnants of the US snowstorm will drift into Greenland. Some of it will also get ‘absorbed’ into the general weather patterns of the North Atlantic. Weather systems do not generally make a simple be a line from US-to-Europe.” according to watchers on Twitter.
