Although Europe was in the last period a leader in large hails occurrence /https://mkweather.com/large-hail-in-poland-11cm-hungary-9cm-and-croatia-9cm//, several reports from Midwest, the USA are telling about 8-10 cm (3 inches+) hails in some regions.
The worst situation was on Thursday and Friday, 8.-9. July 2021 in Central Iowa, where baseball-sized hail appeared and caused a lot of damages.
Storms brought relatively isolated storm system.
Large hails were reported from Woodward, Johnston, Urbandale, Polk City, or Des Moines, Iowa.
In the next period, severe storms are possible mainly in eastern parts of the Midwest, such as in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast, while Central and Western USA will be extremely hot and dry until 20. July 2021.
In the Southwest should however appear monsoon rains with regional flash floods or hailstorms. Cooldown in the West and the Rocky Mountains is forecasted only during the 3rd July 2021 decade.
Parts of the USA will be soon colder such as long-term average, while Canada will enjoy hot summer weather according to long-term forecasts.
The strongest storms should appear mainly along the line from Alabama to Wisconsin.
