
During the starting working week, the next extreme heatwave hits Europe, including Italy, Malta, Balkan, Greece, East-Central Europe, Eastern Europe, the Baltic region, and Scandinavia.
While Europe is for extreme July heatwave only preparing, in north-central Sahara – above northeastern Algeria, Tunisia and northwestern Libya, extremely hot air masses already bringing record hot weather – in some parts of Algeria, all-time temperature records were measured.
The hottest was on Sunday, 4. July 2021 in Touggourt, +49,5°C, only 0,1°C below all-time record for the city.
On Friday, 2. July 2021, however, all-time record was broken in Benni Abbes, where +48,7°C was measured.
Extremely hot was in Tunisia, too, up to +48,5°C in Tozeur (0,7°C below all-time record), with some all-time records more northward /Tweet below/.
Extremely hot weather is forecasted to persist over Sahara, Middle East, Central Asia, and Southern and Eastern Europe minimally until 20. July 2021, with the next possible heatwaves, severe drought, and wildfires.
