Africa is traditionally divided by equatorial and subequatorial zones into the northern part, with the summer season and the southern part, with the winter season in May, but it appears, that summer is persisting on both hemispheres.
While in the last days, +47,8°C was measured in Qena and +47,4°C in Aswan, Egypt, +47,2°C in Algeria, or +47,0°C in Chad or Mali /https://mkweather.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=95797&action=edit/, South Africa was still reporting up to +39,9°C and the last days brought extreme almost winter temperature in Massangena, Mozambique, with Tmax of +38,0°C, which is the hottest May day at the station and a record heat for all country for that late season.
Meanwhile in Faya, Chad, Tmin of +33,5°C was measured, which is only 0,1°C from the hottest Chadian night in May in history.
Hot air in south-African region has shifted in the last days above eastern coast, while Cape Town on the West reported severe floods.
In East Africa, almost all Sudan, South Sudan, northern and central Ethiopia, western Kenya, Uganda, and northern Somalia are expecting, according to forecasts, severe season of rain and the next floods.
