In Shabankareh, Iran, the earliest maximum temperature in the world above +50,0°C (+52,1°C) was on 20. May 2025 measured, and other 2 stations reached +50°C and more: Ab Pakhsh with +50,4°C and Dayyer with +50,1°C.
From more records from Iran and the Middle East: +46,0°C in Tabas, +45,1°C n Alula, +44,8°C in Khor, +41,0°C in Yazd, +38,7°C in Esfahan, +38,4°C in Torbat, +37,7°C in Guchan, +37,4°C in Sharhud, +37,3°C in Teheran, +36,6°C in Ghazvin.
Pakistan similarly reported its first +50,0°C, United Arab Emirates +48°C, Saudi Arabia +47°C and Qatar crazy Tmin of +34,8°C.
Nights in Pakistan are anomalously hot, with Tmin of +35,6°C in Hossaynieh, +35,1°C in Ahvaz. Kuwait reported Tmin +34,7°C and Iran and Kuwait survived the hottest nights in all-time history (over the whole year).
Extreme heatwave was long from Saudi Arabia to Japan in the last days!
Meanwhile in China, 1000 weather stations reported temperature May records. Shaanxi, Shanxi and Hubei provinces broke the highest provincial records in May.
Extreme temperatures in spring hit Honshu, Japan, up to +35°C and Koreas up to +34°C. Extremely hot was in Ryukyu and Hokkaido, too.
From some records, we can mention Naha, Japan with Tmax of +32,2°C (previous record from 1906 broken!), +33,0°C from Maehara, +32,7°C from Yokota, +31,3°C from Kuma, +31,0°C from Yuya, +30,7°C from Takatsu or +30,2°C from Ikawa.
Tmin of +23,0°C was the hottest spring night in Soeul, South Korea, in all-time history.
Kaesong, North Korea, reported a tropical night (above +20,0°C), too, with many Tmin records for May across the country.
Meanwhile, in India and Pakistan continue extremely hot nights, thanks to humidity, and in India many regions 1m+ floodwater.
From Tmins its: +30,0°C in Surendranagar or +29,0°C in Diu, India or +30,5°C in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan.
Floods hit mainly Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Meghalaya and Hyderabad, while in Delhi, severe storms wiped out the roots of trees.
Severe floods are reported from Maguindanao, Philippines and West Papua, Indonesia, too.
