
In the last days, India and Bangladesh were hit by severe Tropical Cyclone Jawad, with floods and severe rainfall, but interesting things were happening before the arrival of the system, too.
A big winter heatwaves hit a wider Himalayan region, from Kyrgyzstan to Bangladesh.
While warm spell in Kyrgyzstan was associated with Euro-Asian-African heatwave /https://mkweather.com/the-highest-winter-temperatures-in-history-saudi-arabia-390c-algeria-366c-libya-355c-israel-335c-jordan-318c-greece-311c-turkey-307c-tur// and historic +23,7°C was at the start of December 2021 in the country measured, a heatwave in Nepal and Bangladesh was divided from this hot air masses and was developing separately before the arrival of the powerful cyclone.
Firstly, the highest December temperature in history in Bangladesh, +33,7°C in Cox ‘s Bazar town on the coast was measured, then tropical heatwave hit the Himalayas.
In Nepal, historic +32,4°C in Bhairawa was at the start of December 2021 measured, which is the highest December temperature in the country ever.
Meanwhile, on the eastern Indian coast and southwestern Bangladesh, heavy rainfall from Tropical Cyclone Jawad brought floods.
At the station of Paradeep, Odisha province, India, 201 mm rainfall was measured.
