
After record-breaking peak of heatwaves…
West and Southwest Europe lived trough record-breaking heatwaves last days, with temperatures up to +37,8°C (London, England), +38,4°C (Trier-Pertisberg, Germany) +41,9°C (Socoa, France), +44,7°C (Écija, Spain). In London, it was the 3rd highest measured temperature in history.
Italy, Central Europe and Balkan are waiting for the peak of heatwaves, yet. At the weekend, Italy is waiting up to +45°C, Balkan up to +42°C and Central Europe up to +38°C.
5 days with severe storms in Europe
From the west, cold front is moving over continent and already on Saturday it brings gusty or locally damaging T-storms to eastern Germany, Switzerland and it´s border area in France and Benelux. Storms are excepted in Denmark, southern Norway and Balkan too and severe storm event is waiting southern Russia and Caucasian region.
During next days, storms will be stronger and stronger and till Wednesday, Europe experiences with really hard T-shorms. On Sunday, main storm events are waiting in Alpine region, Italy, Czechia and southern Norway. On Monday, storm line will shift slightly to east with the most damaging effect in Alpine region, northern Italy, Moravia, western Slovakia and NW Balkan. On Tuesday, East Central Europe, Balkan and Baltic states are expected really severe storm event. On Wednesday, storm line will move above Balkan, with severe storms, but above Eastern Europe, storms will be already weaker.
Big return of heatwaves between 6.-14. August 2020
After net storm period, next – and longer heatwaves will return very quickly across many parts of Europe.
In Spain and southern France will be hot sooner, already on Tuesday and Wednesday 4.-5. August. In West Europe, British Isles including, next heatwaves will hit 6.-9. August, with possible temperatures above +35°C in England and +40°C in France again.
Central Europe could alive very long heatwave between 6.-14. August, in southeastern parts longer, with consequent tropical (above +30°C) and supertropical (above +35°C) days. It will be the longest heatwave in region of summer 2020 which can be longer than 10 days in some parts of continental Europe. In Balkan peninsula, heatwaves could take even more time.
