
It´s not the end! Round of floods in Europe at the weekend and on Monday, 17.-19. July 2021 was continuing, with the next life-threatening events across East-Central Europe and Balkan Peninsula.
The worst was the situation in parts of Poland, Austria, and still in southern and eastern Germany.
Floods in Austria caused 1 dead and rainfall in Bavaria and the Austrian Alps brought a flood wave in the Danube in Slovakia and Hungary, where the biggest European river overflowed, regionally.
In Wieselburg-Weinzierl, Niederösterreich, Austria, 146 mm of rainfall in 12 hours was measured on Sunday, 18. July 2021, while in Amstetten, Niederösterreich, Austria, fell 124 mm.
In Uhrusk, Lubelskie, Poland, 47 mm dropped on Sunday evening only in a shorter time such an hour according to ESWD.
Serious floods appeared mainly in northwestern and western Austria and southern Poland, while parts of Slovakia, Hungary, and Czechia reported local flash floods or gusting storms with damages.
E.g. in Budapest fell on Monday, 19. July 63 mm of rain, Veliko Gradiste in Serbia reported 103 mm.
Floods were reported at the weekend and on Monday from parts of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, too, while the storm system brought a powerful lighting activity across all Balkan, including Greece.
Until the end of the workweek, the situation will be stabilizing and severe storms are waiting for only for Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine.
The next round of storms will come into the Alpine region, England, Denmark, Czechia, parts of Poland, but too Eastern Carpathians (Romania, Ukraine) already in the next week, with the next possible regional floods in hit areas.
