Bale – Mulhouse, France -16,4°C, the coldest since 2012, -18°C forecasted

Continental parts of northeastern France see the coldest times since 2012.

In Bale – Mulhouse temperature on Saturday dropped to -16,4°C, what is the lowest value in the city since 2012 (-20,2°C).

In Sunday morning, last frosts up to -18°C are in northeastern France possible.

In Strasbourg, temperature dropped to -13,4°C on Thursday.

In Paris, -6,9°C was measured on Saturday, with 6-days in row with maximum temperature only -2/+1°C.

Extremely strong frosts at the weekend shifted eastward, with many temeprature records in Central Europe, southern Scandinavia and northern Italy /;;;

England still reports severe frosts, but not historic temperature records such as during last days /;

Extreme Siberian winter is still persisting in Benelux and Germany /topics of the next articles/, but the strongest frosts are in the next period expected mainly in eastern parts of continental Europe.

Important factors for declining of temperatures are mainly extremely low relative humidity and high snow cover / and important circulation factors are mainly peaking La nina / and extreme strong negative phase of Arctic Oscillation /
