After a powerful warm spell, the next Arctic winter period appeared in the USA in the last days.
While the last week has started in the USA with extreme temperatures up to 101°F / +38,3°C in Falcon Lake, Texas, and temperatures reached tropical values in Florida (90°F / +32,2°C), South Carolina (89°F / +31,7°C – a new February states record), Georgia (87°F / +30,6°C) or North Carolina (87°F / +30,6°C) (plus anomalous 60°F / +15,6°C in northernmost US state on East Coast – Maine), during the expected Arctic outbreak, temperatures in many regions fell again extremely low and snowfall returned.
20 inches / 51 cm of snow fell in Wisconsin near real-feel temperatures up to -50°F / -46°F. -40°F / -40°C in Minnesota in 2 meters was measured, too.
Extremely low temperatures however hit the hottest region in the USA – California, too. In Sacramento Valley, extreme frosts up to 24°F / -4,4°C in Redding, 26°F / -3,3°C in Red Bluff or 27°F / -2,8°C in Sacramento itself appeared.
Meanwhile, in Mexico, before the arrival of the cooldown, extremely hot +42,6°C appeared.
Weather in the USA will be in the first half of March 2022 very variable, with a warm spell in the 1st pentad, a cold spell in the 2nd pentad, and the next warm spell, and a cold spell in the 3rd pentad.
In the Kentucky region (Southeast, Midwest, Northeast crossroad), tornado outbreaks will be near arrivals of cold fronts possible, accompanied by heavy rain, gusting winds, or lighting.
It should appear various temperature extremes, from extreme frosts in the north to tropical days in the south, we should say, that it will be typical weather for early spring in the region.
It should appear regions, where winter weather will be alternated by summer weather and reversely in a very short time.
It will be better to don´t put away warm winter clothes yet, although heatwaves in southern states should surprise, too.
