
The northernmost city with population above 100 000 inhabitants experiences with extremely winter conditions.
Although, city has reported “very warm” cyclonic weather during last decade, on 22. November 2020 even with maximum temperature +0,3°C, deep cyclones are bringing enormous amounts of snow.
City reports 70 cm of snow currently and next snowing is on the way.
Roadmen are already desperate, because removing a snow calamity is day after day harder and harder.
On 15. November, Norilsk has experienced with extremely cold day, with minimum temperature -35,5°C and maximum temperature only -28,4°C, but since these severe frosts is near cyclonic type of weather warmer and warmer.
Between 18.-30. November any Arctic day with maximum temperature below -10,0°C hasn´t been reported and snow cover since 1. November has increased from 25 to 70 cm.
