One extreme after another! Europe hit historic June heatwave /see our homepage for many materials/, with a peak in Italy, where temperatures up to +46°C were measured /+46,0°C in Caltagirone, Italy (!!!) Dangerous, anomalous and deadly heatwave is peaking! Even stronger heatwave next week! | mkweather/ and after this heatwave, an extremely strong cold front brought the deadliest tornado in Europe in 20 years, EF3-4 in Czechia /Czechia hit EF3 tornado, 5 dead, 200 injured, 7 villages destroyed! If is something apocalyptic, so scenes captured from hit areas – it was the strongest tornado in Czechia in all-time history! | mkweather; Deadliest tornado (EF3-4) in Europe in 20 years! Czechia after natural disaster + Footages day after | mkweather/. After the cold front, extremely cold air mass has flooded NW Europe – in British Islands historic frosts up to -3,3°C were measured /The coldest June times in the UK in 30 years! Scotland -3,3°C, England -1,4°C! Only 2,3°C from all-time June national record! | mkweather/.
This dangerous circulation pattern will persist above the continent minimally until the first half of July 2021, with a strong temperature gradient between southeast and northwest and the potential of deadly heatwaves and on the other hand, extreme storms along frontal waves.
Already the next week, around Tuesday and Wednesday, 29.-30. June 2021, the next deadly heatwave is forecasted for Italy, according to Meteo Giornale portal up to +47°C in Southern parts.
It means the next risk of wildfires and severe drought in regions, which haven´t be /won´t be hit by severe storms.
Hit by this heatwave will be again Balkan, Greece, SE Europe, and parts of Eastern Europe, with a possibility of the next national June temperature records, regionally (temperatures +40/+44°C in Balkan and Hungary and up to +38°C in Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine…).
Northward and westward from this heatwave, a powerful cold front will be bringing another round of severe storms, again with the possibility of not only large hail, gusting winds, and flash floods, but unusually strong tornadoes, too!
Extreme heatwaves are forecasted to return into Europe already around 6. July or later, some hot tropical days are forecasted for the British Islands, too, but the most of time, NW Europe will be in a cold sector with storms and relatively low temperatures until 15. July 2021 (according to current outlooks).
Evidence, that NW Europe will be colder is, that heatwaves from Spain won´t hit France on their usual tracks a lot and hot air should more be shifting eastward and northeastward.
It appears, that Summer 2021 prepared for us many devastating surprises, therefore stay safe and watch the weather with us.
