In Cooma, New South Wales, 947 MASL, -7,5°C was measured on 13. August 2021 and only -7,1°C was measured near a previous coldwave on 7. August and -8,0°C during another Antarctic blob on 2. August 2021.
In New Zealand, problems were causing again regionally heavy snowfall and before a few days, coldwave was peaking with temperatures up to -8,0°C in Mt. Cook, 656 MASL.
Meanwhile, Kulumburu and Douglas River in northern parts of Australia reported on 12. August 2021 anomalous +36,9°C.
The all-time August record in Kulumburu is only +38,1°C and only 1,2°C was missing into a monthly record, despite the fact, that on the southern coast of the continent, the next coldwave has begun.

Until the end of August 2021, a powerful heatwave is forecasted in parts of Australia – mainly in the northern half, while southern parts should be shortly hit by summer, or even tropical temperatures during the last winter month.
