From Slovakia, we are preparing Mkweather special – in Poprad, northern Slovakia, the temperature at 17:00 on 26. December 2021 dropped to -19,8°C and weather warnings before minimum temperatures up to -25°C are possible.

-18,2°C reported hydrological station Jablonka in Orawa /https://hydro.imgw.pl/#station/meteo/249190560/, too, but the next morning appear even colder.
On the other side of High Tatras, Poprad or Podolínec Slovakia reported at 17:00 (26.12.2021) only -19,8°C and possible temperatures around -25°C in the morning 27. December 2021 should be the lowest temperatures in European mid-latitudes below 1000 MASL of Winter 2021/2022, so far.
Only in Switzerland, up to -33,3°C was in the last days measured, however around 1200 MASL /https://mkweather.com/amburnex-combe-switzerland-333c-the-strongest-frosts-of-winter-2021-2022-in-continental-europe-so-far//.

Still is not fully excluded, that some stations in southern Poland will be attacking -25°C in a few hours.
Our watch in the next article is shifting to Slovakia, where thanks to heavy snowfall, temperatures after sunset, on 26. December 2021, dropped extremely low and it´s not clear when a decrease of temperatures will stop.
Interesting were temperatures during Christmas in Jogeva, Estonia, too, with -19,7°C, or Stenda, Latvia, with -17,8°C.
From Polish bigger cities, on 26.12.2021, -17,3°C was measured in Kielce, -16,9°C in Klodzko, or -16,7°C in Lodz, so far.
Weather warnings before severe frosts are currently valid for almost all of Poland, therefore stay safe and warm.
