Already in the last article, we published a 6-week ECMWF temperature and precipitation outlook for Europe /https://mkweather.com/6-week-ecmwf-forecast-for-europe-until-7-march-2022-early-spring-is-coming//.
Now, we will look at the upcoming winter and early spring conditions until 7. March 2022 in the USA (and Canada, Mexico).
In the first half of the period, winter conditions will be moving from eastern and southern USA back to Northwest, with powerful blizzards, later storm rounds (later with possible tornadoes) above central and eastern parts of the continent.
In the second half of the period, early-spring conditions should flood almost all USA, with heatwaves in the south and extremely warm days in the mid-latitudes. Only Northwest will stay colder.
Mainly the last 2 weeks should be drier.
The region from Texas to Nova Scotia will be the last 4 weeks extremely warm, later will be warm Rocky Mountains and Southwest, too.
The first February 2022 week should be anomalously wet, with blizzards and severe storms, especially in the central and eastern USA.
In the last January week, after blizzards, very dry Arctic air in above the USA, mainly in the eastern half, predicted.
Western (La Nina) and partially central, later Eastern (NAO+) Canada, and Alaska, will be still very cold.
Similarly, as in Europe, the weather will come from the peak of winter to early-spring conditions /link above/.
