Winter in mountainous Balkanian regions should be very surprising!
Southward from Dinaric Mountains, in Albania, during last long-term winter Siberian blast in Europe, thanks to moisture from Adriatic, tons of snow have fallen in populated areas.
The highest peak in Albania Korab standing at 2764 metres (9068 ft) elevation above sea level on the border with the Republic of North Macedonia.
In one of highest elevated populated village in the country, 4 meters of snow have fallen during last few weeks, what was immediately shot on camera.
Inhabitants of a village live in houses up to their roofs buried under the snow. Some houses are all under the snow, some roof tops are visible, yet.
Civil protection forces are going control inhabitants of these areas during events such this regularly, but not every winter is so strong such Winter 2020/2021.
Moreover, next Siberian blast in Europe is possible, with next snowing in Dinaric Mountains, Pidnus and Šára Mountains regions, where cold Siberian air will be meeting with moisture from Mediterranean.
Therefore, evacuation of people from the region is in this winter still possible.
