Snow calamity and paralyzed country! Slovakia is preparing for an extreme blizzard: 0,5 – 1 meter of snow is regionally forecasted!

Not only basins and valleys, but too warm lowlands!

In Slovakia, everything is possible and already from Thursday to Friday, 8.-9. December 2021 and then around Monday, 11. December 2021, extreme snowfall should paralyze all country and some neighboring regions in Hungary, Czechia, Poland, Ukraine, or Austria. Snowing is forecasted in Germany, the Balkan, or the Baltic region, too, but Slovakia will become a leader in blizzard conditions parameters, according to the GFS model.

While in densely populated basins and valleys 500 – 1000 MASL, 50 – 100 cm is forecasted, in lower situated basins, 30-70 cm and in lowlands, 20-50 cm is in many regions possible.

Snow calamity like this should be for country legendary – similar early-winter blizzards haven´t appeared in the country maybe decades.

It should be linked with a total paralyzation of the country, although a lockdown thanks to an extreme covid outbreak is ongoing.

Roads, highways, railways should totally collapse, trees should be uprooted under the weight of heavy snowfall and widespread power outages should appear, including metropolitan areas.

After an extreme blizzard, severe frosts -20/-25°C should hit soon – already the next 2 mornings before a blizzard should in valleys appear frosts around -20°C.
