In many parts of countries fell in the last days more than 100 mm of rainfall and the next storms are on way.
Parts of Mt. Hermon, Israel are under the snow and similar is the situation in Lebanon and Syria, where snowfall was registered below 1400 MASL, snowflakes should appear locally only around 1000 MASL.
In Houche-Al-Oumara, Lebanon, 920 MASL, the minimum temperature dropped on 21. December only to +1,9°C near storms.
Damascus, Syria, 604 MASL, reported on 20. December frost, only -0,4°C, and around the city appeared snowfall already around 1000 MASL.
Ma’An, Jordan, 1060 MASL, reported 8 mornings with minimum temperatures of only +1,4 / +3,6°C.
In Guriat, Saudi Arabia, only 509 MASL, +0,9°C was measured on 19. December 2021.
Kamishli, Syria, 455 MASL, reported only +1,3°C on 23. December 2021.
Neot Smadarm Israel, 403 MASL, reported on 22. December 2021 only +2,9°C, Har-Knaan (Zefat), 934 MASL on 21. December 2021 only +2,3°C, or Jerusalem, 815 MASL on 21. December 2021 only +2,7°C.
Tel Aviv received in 72 hours (until 23. December 2021 06Z) together 185,7 mm of rainfall.
In Bet Dagan, 168,3 mm fell in the same interval.
In the next period, very cold conditions will continue in many parts of the Middle East and severe storms with floods are forecast even in central Saudi Arabia (except the northern Middle East).
Israel, Lebanon, Iraq, and western Iran will stay at flood risk, too and floods should appear along the coast of Egypt or Libya.
