Many absolute and seasonal records for late October days were in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, and Peru measured.
Heatwave should be considered as abnormal, thanks to its duration, large hit region, and its extreme peaks, including metropolitan regions.
Detailed information from regions you will find below, now we should see at maximum national records measured during the heatwave:
- in Argentina, more than +44°C was regionally measured in northern Argentina
- +39,9°C was measured in Caico, Brazil
- +39,8°C from Puerto Ocopa is the new national October record for Peru
- +37,3°C was measured in San Felipe, Chile
- +36,6°C was recorded in Florida, Uruguay
Extreme temperatures hit metropolitan regions of Buenos Aires and Santiago, too – monthly October records were overcome in both cities, with +36,3°C in Buenos Aires and +33,4°C in Santiago.
