Extreme Siberian winter in Egypt (!!!) Snow in Alexandria! Kharga almost with an absolute minimum record!

Now, we will shift even more southward – to Egypt, where anomalous snowfall, ground frosts, and very unfavorable weather on 20.-21. December 2021 appeared.
Extremely rare snowfall was observed on 20. December 2021 in Alexandria, the northern coast of Egypt.
Excited North Africans made videos and photos and tried to catch snowfall to their hands.
Snow caused problems in traffic because, in the morning, a shallow snow cover was created in some parts of the city.
On 21. December, extremely cold Siberian air has shifted even more southward, above southern Egypt.
Kharga, Saharan city, where in summer maximum temperatures are reaching up to +50,3°C reported extremely low minimum temperature, only +1,4°C.
This temperature is only 0,6°C above the all-time December record and 1,4°C above the absolute record for the station.

Extremely cold Siberian mass is shifting slowly eastward, above the Middle East, with expected rains and possible snowfall below 1000 MASL, including Saudi Arabia.

It´s possible, that the next Siberian blast around the New Year 2022 will bring very similar, maybe regionally colder weather.
