Now, we will return to China – in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, only -46,9°C was on 23. December 2021 measured.
According to data about historic records from the city, all-time records in Hulunbuir are moving only around -43°C, therefore it´s possible, that the last coldwave was historic /https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulunbuir/.
Major supermarkets have increased supplies of necessities, including fruits and vegetables thanks to the extreme Siberian blast.
These frosts have brought the same cold front, which caused anomalous temperatures and snowing in all of East Asia.
Almost all of China in the last days found itself under frosts, including southern regions, where the temperature dropped below 0°C and snowing appeared (the first link above).
In Pyongyang, North Korea, -21,0°C was measured, which is only 1,8°C above the all-time December record.
Seoul reported -16,0°C, the lowest temperature since in 41 years (the next Mkweather article).
In Beijing, 4 days with a minimum temperature in the interval -10/-12°C was between 25.-28. December 2021, measured, on 25.-26. December 2021 with ice days (all-day frosts), with temperature maximum only -1/-2°C, appeared, with snowfall.
Social media are now full of sceneries and white photos from the region.
