A peak of Winter 2021/2022 has arrived into central and eastern USA and Canada in the second and third January 2022 decade and hundreds of millions of Americans and Canadians are suffering extremely cold and snowy conditions.
Series of blizzards with subsequent Arctic blasts hit in the last period Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northern Plains, Southeast, Texas and very cold weather was observed even in Florida, while the eastern half of Canada experienced -45°C frosts /https://mkweather.com/quebec-444c-and-ontario-406c-after-the-strongest-arctic-blast-of-the-winter// and historic blizzards.
In Toronto, the strongest blizzard since 1965 has appeared, with 40 cm, locally up to 0,5 meters of snowfall and widespread snow calamity. Warnings before severe blizzards were the most severe in the last few decades.
Mississauga in Ontario reported the most severe blizzard since 1944.
Nashville in Tennessee reported until 20. January 2022 already the snowiest winter since 1985 and severe blizzards hit / will hit regions from Georgia (Atlanta) to New Foundland.
Hailstorms with golf-ball-sized hail appeared in Texas, while Florida hit severe and damaging tornado outbreaks.
In Yakutat, in far Alaska, a record 1,8-meter snowfall was observed.
Extreme low temperatures and real feel 0/-30°F / -12/-34°C are currently for the upcoming Arctic blast predicted in the region northward from Kentucky and Virginia (including mentioned states) and extremely cold Arctic air will be in the next period only slowly moving back above the NW USA and western Canada /https://mkweather.com/6-week-ecmwf-forecast-for-the-usa-until-7-march-2022-from-a-peak-of-winter-to-early-spring//.
Early-spring weather is predicted only in the second half of February or early March 2022, so far, however, with a possibility of tornado outbreaks, when frontal boundaries between cold air above NW USA and W Canada and warm/hot South and East will be initially forming (later will be dry).
