Dolina di Campoulazzo, Italy (1767 MASL): -31,4°C, so far, for higher elevations, around -35°C estimated

The first almost 3 weeks of extremely strong early Winter season 2021/2022 are after us, and the first data from the coldest valleys in Europe in Italian Alps are available.

Although in Dolina di Campoulazzo in winters after season 2007/2008 frosts up to -44,1°C have appeared, and the last winter brought -42,6°C, the last outbreak was milder, with “only” -31,4°C in a valley situated in 1767 MASL in the southern Alps. In elevations above 2500 MASL, frosts below -35°C were possible.

In even higher elevated areas, above 2500 MASL, even frosts up to -49,6°C have appeared in the last almost 15 years.
