It was only the start of upcoming early-winter conditions in Europe, Asia, and North Africa, thanks to dominant NAO-/AO- phases in the last almost 2 months.
Winter in the region is forecast to continue until the start of February 2022 /https://mkweather.com/huge-waterspout-near-the-coast-of-ashdod-israel-the-coast-of-israel-lebanon-syria-cyprus-turkey-and-parts-of-the-middle-east-with-the-next-severe-storms-ahead// and Egypt reported in the last time the next severe storm events.
From the most interesting storms in the last period, it was a mainly severe hailstorm in Hurghada, SE Egypt.
Quite a rare event in the desert city brought an accumulation of large hail and people everything captured on their phones.
Before the storm, the maximum temperature only of +26,0°C was measured on 1. January, while on 3. January, after a transition of the frontal boundary, only colder days with +21,2°C appeared.
