GFS expects extreme blizzards in Europe! Regionally 20-70 cm, locally up to 1 meter of snow possible!

Every of the last 4 runs of GFS expects in some region of Europe blizzard conditions:

1.) Run from 19. December 18Z see severe blizzard for northern Germany, northern and eastern Poland, Baltic states, Belarus, NW Ukraine, and north-central European Russia.

2.) Run from 20. December 00Z expects a blizzard for the northern Netherlands, northern Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, northern parts of Czechia and Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, and large parts of Balkan.

3.) Run from 20. December 06Z see blizzard conditions above the Netherlands, Central Germany, Poland, northern Czechia and Slovakia, Balkan, southern Hungary, Ukraine, and southern Belarus.

4.) Run from 20. December 12Z see a snow calamity for Ukraine, Belarus, south-central European Russia, and little lower snowfalls in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, and Balkan.

Extreme blizzards are usually characteristic for southern parts of Siberian air masses, or stationary fronts and pressure lows.

While almost all Europe will receive during the period 20. December 2021 – 10. January 2022 snow cover or least snowflakes, regionally should really appear blizzard conditions with 20-70, rarely up of tp 100 cm of snow.
