Now, we should look at the next very low temperatures measured in the Baltic region and southern Scandinavia in the last days.
After legendary -37,5°C in Nikkaluokta, northern Sweden, extremely cold air from the Arctic has shifted above southern Scandinavia and the Baltic region.
While in parts of Scandinavia and the St. Petersburg region, severe blizzards appeared, many metropolitan or famous frost cities in the region reported very strong frosts.
The coldest in southern Scandinavia was “Norwegian Oymyakon” – Folldal – Fredheim in southern Norway, where only -26,9°C was on 29. November 2021 measured.
Extremely cold air has shifted until 2. December 2021 above Baltic countries and Tarvastu, Estonia, around midnight from 1. to 2. December, only -17,9°C according to Estonian Meteorological Service reported /https://www.ilmateenistus.ee/ilm/ilmavaatlused/vaatlusandmed/tunniandmed/?lang=en/.
Very cold temperatures have already appeared in Scandinavian (or Baltic) metropolitan cities, too – in Oslo, Norway, -16,0°C, in Stockholm, Sweden, -12,0°C, in Tallin -10,3°C or in Helsinki -10,0°C were until 2: December 2021 measured and will be even worse!
Mainly until 10. December, the next severe coldwaves are in the region forecasted, with a possibility of temperatures close to -40°C in northern Scandinavia and below -20°C in metropolitan areas of capital cities!
