A bomb cyclone in California: A situation is critical – A historic rainfall, floods and mudslides (500 mm / 20 inches), severe winds (227 km/h), and the lowest air pressure ever (942.5 hPa)!

Only at the weekend, we warned before a bomb cyclone and atmospheric river above North-American Pacific, mainly San Francisco region, northern California /https://mkweather.com/san-francisco-region-under-bomb-cyclone-and-atmospheric-river-attack//

The heaviest rainfall fell in the region from Sunday to Monday, 24.-25. October 2021 – forecast model estimates are saying about short-term precipitation events up to 500 mm / 20 inches above parts of northern California.

In many densely populated regions, severe floods, historic rainfall, and mudslides are reported.

Wind gusts in Squaw Mountain reached an extreme 227 km/h / 141 mph and tourism in the mountains was mostly impossible. Kirkwood and Mommoth reported 180 km/h / 112 mph winds.

An air pressure near the Pacific coast reached only 942.5 hPa, which is the lowest pressure in the region of 30 – 50°N in and 120 – 140°W in Northeastern Pacific, ever.

The situation is coming after extreme drought and the worst wildfire season in California ever (2021) and dry reservoirs therefore will be filled by water.

An atmospheric river will start a long-term cold period in the USA, with 3 peaks of coldwaves in the next 2 weeks /https://mkweather.com/the-usa-hit-3-arctic-blasts-25-10-1-11-30-10-5-11-and-4-11-10-11-2021-the-first-snow-in-many-regions-forecasted//, in the eastern USA after record, more than 30-day Indian summer /https://mkweather.com/more-than-30-day-indian-summer-in-upper-midwest-great-lakes-and-northeast-is-ending/ + many articles in our homepage/.

Anomaly like this should be appearing during the winter season in the region more often, partially with a contribution of creating the Northeastern Pacific Warm Blob anomaly.
