Only on Saturday, 8. January, Gielas in Sweden reported -38,7°C and extremely cold Arctic air masses have already shifted above the continent, with really freezing temperatures in mountainous valleys.
Kvilda-Perla, Czechia (1065 MASL – the highest elevated village in Czechia), on 12. January 2022, reported the lowest temperature in the country in Winter 2021/2022 when only -27,3°C was measured /https://tn.nova.cz/zpravodajstvi/clanek/452431-cesko-zasahl-silny-mraz-na-sumave-namerili-26-5-c/.
From other stations, -26,0°C was measured in Rokytská Slať or -23,5°C in Jizerka.
